The Barrington Woman’s Club Evelyn Coppell Award

Established in 1960

In 1960, the Barrington Woman’s Club established one of the first Community Scholarship Fund scholarships.

Barrington/Warren Rotary Club Award

Established in 1962

One of the earliest Community Scholarship Fund scholarships, The Rotary Club Award was established in 1962 to help students with higher education expenses.

Barrington Times Holiday Greeting Page Award

Established in 1972

In 1972, Barrington Times editor, Kitty Stewart Shadd set aside a full-page in the newspaper as a holiday greeting card and asked residents to donate to the Community Scholarship Fund in return for adding their name to the greetings page. Each year, the Community Scholarship Fund awards a Barrington Times Scholarship funded by holiday greeting page donations.

Barrington Boosters’ Award

Established in 1987

The Boosters have been contributing to the Community Scholarship Fund since 1984 and endowed a scholarship in 1987.

Barrington Fire Fighters’ Union Local 1774 Award

Established in 1984

Barrington Garden Club Award

Established in 1988

The club turned over administration of their scholarship to the Community Scholarship Fund.

 NEA Barrington Award

Established in 1989

The National Education Association (NEA) has contributed to the Community Scholarship Fund for many years.

CVS Charity Golf Classic Award

Established in 2000

The CVS Caremark Charity Classic is Rhode Island’s largest charitable sporting event. The Community Scholarship Fund of Barrington is fortunate to be one of the recipients of funds generated by the tournament.
